About Benjamin Franklin
Benjamin Franklin (1706–1790) was an influential American polymath, known for his roles as a Founding Father, inventor, scientist, diplomat, and writer. Renowned for his experiments with electricity, he invented the lightning rod and contributed to the understanding of electricity through his famous kite experiment. Franklin also played a key role in American history as a negotiator of the Treaty of Paris, which ended the Revolutionary War, and as a signer of both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.
