About Dalai Lama
The Dalai Lama, born Tenzin Gyatso on July 6, 1935, in Tibet, is the 14th Dalai Lama and a prominent spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism. He fled to India in 1959 following the Chinese invasion of Tibet, where he has since advocated for non-violence, compassion, and the preservation of Tibetan culture and autonomy. Renowned for his teachings on peace and interfaith dialogue, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 for his efforts to promote peaceful solutions to the conflict in Tibet.
