About Swami Vivekananda
Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902) was a prominent Indian Hindu monk and a key figure in the revival of Vedanta and yoga in the late 19th century. He is best known for his inspiring speech at the Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago in 1893, where he introduced the philosophies of Hinduism to a global audience. A disciple of the mystic Ramakrishna, Vivekananda founded the Ramakrishna Mission, promoting social service and the spiritual upliftment of humanity.
